FAQ: Postponement ERC Congress ‘Resuscitation2020’

What will happen in the weekend of 22 to 24 October?

Taking into account the current situation, it is very unlikely that we will be able to hold a physical ERC congress in Manchester from 22 to 24 October, as planned.

The conference center that we leased for the conference is currently functioning as a NHS Nightingale Hospital.  We still have no official confirmation that the conference center will not be available in October, but we expect that this will be confirmed to us in the coming weeks.

In addition, travel restrictions and a ban on indoor meetings are currently in place in the UK and it is difficult to ascertain how the situation will evolve in the coming weeks and months.

We therefore advise you to assume that the physical conference will be cancelled.

In any event we are preparing an alternative virtual ERC congress that will take place from 22 to 24 October 2020. You will then have the opportunity to interact with the writers of the Guidelines, to present your scientific work, to join sessions hosted by our exhibitors and to get in touch with each other in digital meeting rooms.

What about the ERC resuscitation guidelines?

The updated resuscitation guidelines were planned to be released on October 21, 2020.
The publication of these guidelines will be postponed until 2021.

Will my registration fee be refunded?

If you plan to attend the 2021 ERC Guidelines Congress, no action is required by you. As a registered delegate your registration will automatically be transferred to the 2021 ERC congress.

From the moment we open our registration for the 2021 congress, you will have to register again with a discount voucher (100 percent discount) for the new congress. We will inform you by email with your discount code from the moment new information on the 2021 dates become available.

If you are unable to attend this 2021 congress, you can cancel your registration up to three months after the opening date of the registration for the 2021 Guidelines Congress and you will receive a full refund your registration fee upon your request. After this date, your registration will automatically be transferred to the 2021 ERC Congress.

All costs incurred for transportation, accommodation, etc. are not covered by the ERC.

How should I apply for cancellation/refund?

Can I get refunded for my accommodation?

The ERC will not refund your accommodation. Please contact the agency or hotel to cancel your hotel accommodation and to check the cancellation conditions.

What steps should I take to get reimbursed for the costs related to my travel / accommodation?

For hotel accommodation please contact the agency or hotel to cancel your booking and to check the cancellation conditions. For your airline travel, contact your airline directly and if you have a travel insurance, contact your provider for information about the cancellation procedure.

Can I withdraw my science and submit it elsewhere?

Yes. Kindly notify us here so we can log this information on your abstract.

Will my abstract still be published and where?

We will be hosting abstract sessions during our virtual ERC congress and (if approved) we would be delighted to see your abstract presentation. We will publish accepted abstracts in a supplement of Resuscitation. We will be in touch with you personally as soon as more details become available.

I bought my membership at the same time as my congress registration. Will I be reimbursed the full amount?

Memberships will not be reimbursed.

Will industry partners be refunded for their participation?

We would be delighted if you, as exhibitor, were to join us during this virtual ERC congress. To maximise your interaction with our delegates and faculty, we will be contacting you personally, as soon as more details about this virtual ERC congress become available.
